May 28, 2026"I got the Ruben sandwich with French fries and my wife got the fisherman’s platter. The food was very good! We arrived on Monday Sept 22nd around 6 pm and there was only one parking space open which we got! I had a good feeling about our experience before we even got inside! And I was right! Brittany who has worked there for about 5 years was our server. She did an excellent job! Everyone was busy because the place was packed. but we did find a booth without having to wait and we’re waited on in a timely manner. Cox Family Restaurant is worth the drive if you are anywhere nearby."

May 26, 2026"First stop on our Atlantic Beach trip for dinner. What a gem of a place. It was busy with a practically full dining room, but we were promptly seated because service moves quickly here. You can see why it’s a fixture of the community that has been around since 1976. We had fresh hush puppies delivered immediately and our meals were well prepared. Spots were on the specials board and cooked to perfection. Fried shrimp were also fantastic. We will absolutely be back whenever we come to the beach. Thank you to the team for a wonderful experience!"

Apr 04, 2026"This is a wonderful family diner. They have a set menu and also a whiteboard menu that changes daily. Their breakfast selection looked wonderful, and I was told they have a good morning crowd. The waitresses were friendly. The atmosphere and food was spot on for a diner. Their prices were very reasonable. The first night, we both ordered the fisherman's platter. It comes fried and included 2 or 3 scallops, 2 oysters, and 5 shrimp along with the flounder. I think it was flounder. Oh, it also had a few clam strips. I think mine were the bottom of the bag, but my husband's seemed ok, a little bigger than mine. We were given a basket of delicious hush puppies. I believe we could have had rolls instead. The next day, our friends took us out to lunch (here). I got the house salad, Our friends loved their fried chicken livers and fried gizzards. We will definitely go back when we are in the area."

Apr 02, 2026"Ok, there isn't anything more needed in a small town dive diner. They are perfection. The food is good and plentiful AND cheap. We were in town a week and ate here three times. They do a dinner deal most things ten bucks includes hush puppies and biscuits and dessert. Where can you get a deal like that? AND Breakfast for dinner (I love that) Full menu all day and night (except no waffles in pm) specials that seem to change daily. Chicken fried steak was a game changer. Huge menu a million options. Great chatty friendly staff. Sweet helpful clientele. The amount of single guys and cute old widowers, who I suspect eat here almost daily is heartwarming. Every time we ate here they were busy. Every time we drove by there were cars in the parking lot. This place is deceptively big. Upon first entering you only see one smallish room. BUT there are at least three bigger rooms. I never fully explored. They also do a brisk to-go business. I wish we had one like this in Denver. I would frequent it often."

Mar 19, 2026"We're in town on vacation and we went here today for Thanksgiving lunch, and got another meal to bring home for dinner. Everything was fantastic! The server (who apparently isnt normally a server) was great. The restaurant was slammed full of people, and he was running around taking care of everyone. He stayed calm and maintained a positive attitude the entire time. We're very thankful that Cox Family Restaurant was open today!"
